Marja and Tyler's Semi Pictures

I don’t know WHAT I would do if I didn’t have as many daughters to take pictures of! I know I wouldn’t have as much fun with photography! Anyway, Marja was asked by a young man named Tyler to the school Semi dance. Before the grand evening we all gathered at his family’s house not far away and had a very nice time fellowshipping and taking pictures in their beautiful house. It was the first time I had the pleasure of meeting Tyler (Monica had been his teacher, so SHE knew him well!) and he was a very fine and intelligent young man! They had a very nice evening!

The most fun shots were the more casual ones. Tyler is a very gregarious and active fellow and full of great expressions. Here his great grandmother is putting his corsage on and his grandfather helping him get his jacket on nicely....
....
Anyway, the house was very beautiful with a lot of wood and a beautiful fireplace. LOTS of character and a great place for portraits. The only unfortunate thing was the fact that it was rather dark outside in the late afternoon snow storm and there really wasn’t much window light. Here is the nice B&W of Marja by the window that I like.

Because the window light was so low, I had to resort to mostly using bounce flash off the ceiling since I didn’t bring any of my fancy equipment. The lighting results were still quite nice.

I tried for QUITE some time to get some pictures without flash in the very beautiful foyer area with a staircase. The results were just NOT good. The camera just couldn’t deal with at the high iso settings to keep the shutter speeds fast enough. These two were the best I could get:

THANKS for everything, Marja and Tyler!
