I love this huge old tree looking up into the cloudy mist surrounding it.  

...I tried a bunch of different filters on this shot below, but my wife made me get rid of them all.    She loves the greens (which on this spring day, were very accurately rendered in their color here!)

I have seen orchids, of course, but none in the &ldquo;wild&rdquo; like this!    It was just so &ldquo;out there&rdquo; and isolated...  just springing up out of the forest floor out of the blue!  

...And of course there was a whole range of other flowers along the way...    Praise God for all His gorgeous creation!

This is one of my favorite shots... it isn&rsquo;t properly white balanced so the flowers are not white, but I think it looks pretty cool.

This shot is really cool... as the shutter is taking its exposure I am shaking the flowers!

...Because that is where the homeless come, it is also the place many Christian ministries come to distribute food and clothing.  

...A team of Lutheran caregivers converges at Love Park and prepare here to spend about an hour distributing food and clothing  to the homeless.  

...He was quite excited to not only to affirm the importance of ministry to the homeless, but confirm that there really ARE &ldquo;success&rdquo; stories where homeless are reincorporated into society.  

...Of course his home is not much - only a room...  and we can only imagine it might be a room in a section of town like this that we drove through:

It was VERY fun, although I was rather disappointed in my shots of Hannah and Sarah which were seemingly failed by my lens which rendered rather soft images without a lot of contrast.    Post processing wasn&rsquo;t able to overcome all the problems, but they will look good enough on this web page!  ...  Enjoy!

...The only unfortunate thing was the fact that it was rather dark outside in the late afternoon snow storm and there really wasn&rsquo;t much window light.  

...Because the window light was so low, I had to resort to mostly using bounce flash off the ceiling since I didn&rsquo;t bring any of my fancy equipment.  

...I tried for QUITE some time to get some pictures without flash in the very beautiful foyer area with a staircase.  ... That, compounded with the fact that usually the items of interest are in cabinets and not really arranged with photography in mind, makes it kind of silly to try to be a serious photographer.    I really didn&rsquo;t take very many pictures, but there were a few that were quite interesting - although not really for their photographic merit... 


...First up is one of the most unique items in the museum:  a VERY interesting chandelier!

It is almost 200 years old and most of it is not restored.    The walls are in various states of condition, with plaster coming off of most of it - which exposes various surfaces and materials underneath.    I should have shot a lot more, but here is the best of the few pictures that I took of the walls.    Enjoy!

...My cameras are not capable of doing double exposures &ldquo;in camera&rdquo;, but of course the other way you can do it is through software and layering two pictures on your computer.  

...I think it is that there are actually multiple panes in this window, all slightly out of parallel with each other...  so that is why you get the different images?  

...AFTER the shot I glanced at the back of the camera and was shocked because the picture there was NOT what I thought I had just taken.  ... It is kind of hard seeing my daughter grow up to beautiful, but I am pretty proud to see her so composed and confident!

Maria and Marja have been best friends ever since Maria moved next door to us about 10 years ago!    Can you tell they are happy together?

We had a blast....  and although it was definitely not the perfect day for photography, and although photography was not my main goal (making sure I didn&rsquo;t loose the kids was the main goal!), I was able to take a few interesting shots...  

...I was kind of sad to find out that we needed reservations to see the 9/11 memorial.


...A little farther down the street was historic Trinity Church and its glorious high ceiling and beautiful altar:


...For some reason I have never taken double exposures, but I like to get almost the same effect with window reflections...
